wxhere/bitcomet repository overview

Welcome to use Docker Edition of BitComet

List of docker images: https://hub.docker.com/r/wxhere/bitcomet/tags

FYI: The Web UI edition of BitComet docker images can be found at: https://hub.docker.com/r/wxhere/bitcomet-webui

Deploy Method 1: using docker-compose

Step 1: save docker-compose.yml to your local system.

For v2.23.0 and later:

services:
  bitcomet:
    container_name: bitcomet
    image: wxhere/bitcomet:latest
    restart: unless-stopped
    ulimits:
      nofile:
        soft: 65536
        hard: 65536
    volumes:
      # BitComet configuration and GUI state.
      - /docker/appdata/BitComet:/config:rw

      # Downloaded files.
      - /home/user/Downloads:/output:rw
    ports:
      # Browser GUI: https://HOST:6080
      - "6080:5800"

      # Optional BitComet WebUI. Comment out this mapping and
      # BITCOMET_WEBUI_PORT below when WebUI access is not needed.
      - "6081:8080"

      # BitTorrent incoming and DHT ports.
      - "6082:6082/tcp"
      - "6082:6082/udp"

      # Native VNC is optional and is not exposed by default.
      # - "5900:5900"
    environment:
      # Usually keep 1000:1000. Change only when host-directory ownership differs
      # or the container reports write-permission errors; these do not control authentication.
      USER_ID: "1000"
      GROUP_ID: "1000"

      # Optional browser desktop size.
      DISPLAY_WIDTH: "1280"
      DISPLAY_HEIGHT: "768"

      # The browser GUI login name can be customized. Prefer an environment variable
      # or .env for the password. NAS interfaces may use a direct value when required,
      # but never commit a real password to the repository.
      WEB_AUTHENTICATION_USERNAME: "bitcomet"
      WEB_AUTHENTICATION_PASSWORD: "${BITCOMET_GUI_PASSWORD:?BITCOMET_GUI_PASSWORD is required}"

      # Optional BitComet WebUI internal port. Comment out together with the
      # "6081:8080" mapping above when WebUI access is not needed.
      BITCOMET_WEBUI_PORT: "8080"

      # Internal BitTorrent listening port; usually keep the default. If changed,
      # also update the container-side TCP/UDP ports after ":" above.
      BITCOMET_BT_PORT: "6082"

      # Set only when upgrading from v2.22.0 or earlier and old tasks store this
      # absolute container download path. Do not set for new installations or newer upgrades.
      # LEGACY_DOWNLOAD_PATH: "/home/sandbox/Downloads"

For v2.22.0 and earlier:

services:
    sandbox:
        container_name: bitcomet

        ulimits:
          nofile:
            soft: 65536
            hard: 65536
        volumes:
            # mounts the host directory into the container to store config files
            - /docker/appdata/BitComet:/home/sandbox/.config/BitComet:rw
            # mounts a host directory into the container to store downloaded files
            - ~/Downloads:/home/sandbox/Downloads:rw
        ports:
            # VNC GUI port
            - 5900:5900
